All you need for this one is a can of your favorite pie filling (I did lemon for Honey!) and a box of angel food cake. Instead of water or any of the other ingredients the box may call for, all you do is add the canned filling to the dry cake mix, and bake for 50-60 minutes! Top with whipped cream and your fave fresh fruit! Since we did lemon filling, I opted to top with blueberries because I feel they compliment each other nicely – also a major fave of my girl’s!
Another idea that would be so yummy with this would be adding apple filling for fall/Thanksgiving!
Ingredients
1 box angel food cake mix
1 can of your fave pie filling
Optional: fave fresh fruit + whipped cream to top
Directions
Combine dry angel food cake mix and pie filling in a medium bowl. Mix until well combined. Add to a greased baking dish and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Optional: top with homemade/store bought whip cream and fresh fruit. To make the homemade whipped cream, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream to a stand mixer (or bowl for a hand mixer). Whip for about 4-5 minutes until peaks form, and then add in 3/4 cup of powdered sugar and mix for another minute or so.
