More than a full week into July now and I figured it was time to get this up! I’m going to try and keep this one really short and sweet because I am planning on blogging about our Disneyland and San Diego trip which took up some of June for us!
Kids
Our kids’ school isn’t year round, but since they have so many week long breaks, half days, and other random days off, their summer break is really only 60 days! They’re released the last couple days of May – have all of June and July and then start school Aug 1! Therefore we really try and soak up the full months of these two J months before it’s back to the school grind!
Conner went to camp with our church for 5 days (the first time away from C and I like that EVER! He had the best time though and made tons of memories), we played glow in the dark mini golf, found a few new spots to eat, made homemade mozzarella sticks and onion rings for dinner, Colly experienced the beach for the first time ever, and enjoyed the monsoons! Conner also started basketball (which he’s super passionate about the game right now!) and it’s been fun to watch. The boys have been helping in the yard and it’s been a big help to have them tidying up – especially when the birds and the elements love to go hard on everything out there. 🥴
Hun got signed up for gymnastics (I’ll share more about this in July, since it officially started this month!) and she’s been super interested in the Paint by Stickers books.
Colly still isn’t walking (she turned 17 months in June). I took her to our pediatrician under the impression I would be able to get a referral to PT for her, but he said I shouldn’t be super concerned as of yet. We’re going to check in again August when she’s 19 mo to assess her then. If she’s still not standing or walking, we will go from there and make those appts, but as of right now he thinks she’s just being stubborn. The boys both walked by 12 mo (or even a little earlier for first steps) but Hun didn’t start walking until 15-16 months. However, with Honey, she was standing and Colly is not, so that’s where a lot of my concern stemmed from. I am going by what our ped is saying and recommending, so my nerves are a little more calm about it. He said she is super strong, does not have low tone, and has a strong core so hopefully there won’t be many more delays as far as her getting going with it! I’ll definitely keep you guys posted on what happens in the future with it.
Me
I shared an update on IG two weeks ago about how I’m trying to figure out the best way to deliver content to you all while not burning out entirely. Last summer was my first summer with 4 kids at home and while they were all a whole year younger, it didn’t feel as hectic this one does. I love being consistent and knowing each week I have Mon-Wed content already planned out and that you can count on (Monday’s are always favorite finds or a hack, Tuesdays are always style inspired, and Wednesdays are always new recipes!) but I was definitely kind of hitting a wall. Between juggling everything and the kids home and needing more, I was having a hard time and feeling super overwhelmed. I also shared last month that I’ve been dealing with some health things on top of this busy season, but I just got some amazing news from my doctor and have a plan to get things back under control. I am SO excited and relieved, I can’t even begin to explain – which I will, but that will have to be in another post too!
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading and keeping up with us and all of your support. I say it often (cuz it’s TRUE!) but I really do have the best community here.
Hope the rest of your month goes smoothly and you’re able to enjoy the summer, too!
