Probably one of the biggest trends of 2021 was rattan cane coming back in style! I’m definitely loving it and really like the earthiness it brings to any room.
I’ve been wanting to add some of it to vases around the house for a while to bring in some more texture to our living spaces. These glass bottle vases are a favorite of mine, and they definitely look pretty as is, but I think they pop so much more with a little rattan added to them! This was actually the first vase I had that I applied the rattan to. I found some webbing here for a reasonable price and got to scheming!
I had another ordinarily cute-as-is vase that was sitting in my laundry room that I wanted to bring some new life into. It actually had come in a two pack with another vase I’m using in our bedroom, and I really didn’t want or need the same style vase somewhere else so I put it off to the side until I knew how I wanted to change it up. You could DEFINITELY thrift something for a few bucks and use that too. I just had this one already stashed away and not being used, which is why I decided to use it for this!
I spray painted it all black (as it did have some texturing already on it that was white) and then waited 24 hours for it to fully dry. After that to apply the cane webbing, I simply used hot glue.
I added some pampas grass (super affordable price when I bought this 6 pc bundle!) and put it in our loft to enjoy. SO EASY! I hope this helps inspire your next project!
