Try It Tuesday: Mama + Mini Shoes

Did you know that a good pair of shoes can last 5-15 years?! 🤯 I may have a couple in my closet nearing that but only because they are ‘special occasion’ shoes. That said though, I have a few pairs of my fave mom sneakers that have held up incredibly well over the years, all things considered – and I’ve been pretty hard on them too!

For this week’s edition of #TryItTues, I wanted to round up a few of my fave sneakers + shoes that I wear in every day life. Several of these styles I have gotten for each of my 4 kids over the years to twin with me, too!

Right now, both boys and Hun are really loving their vans – Cole just sized up in his black and white checkerboard ones and Colly got her very first pair of pink checkerboards last month! They’re still a little big but she’ll fit them in time. She’s not walking yet so there’s really no rush for her feet to magically grow into them over night either.

Adidas are probably my “go to” mom shoes – I’ve mentioned this a lot if you’ve followed me for a while. I LOVE the Cloudfoam inside of them which makes doing all of the mom things that much easier when you have a solid, comfortable shoe to do. The kids have had both the velcro strap kind and also the lace up ones as they’ve gotten older, too.

Try It Tuesday: Dressing Up Graphic Tees

Give me a comfy tee with a cute (or sarcastic) graphic and I am one happy mama!! There are so many ways to dress up graphic tees and I’m excited to share one of my fave ways with Simple Sage!

I personally enjoy pairing graphic tees with (short/long) skirts!!! It gives the tee a more styled, dressy flair especially if the tee is unisex sizing or oversized. I tuck mine in and pull it out just a bit, do a side knot, or do a front tuck!! All 3 look adorable with a skirt.

These two tees I’m wearing today are from Simple Sage! They have a limited time deal going on with Zulily, which means they’re only on sale for a very short time!! There are dozens and dozens on this deal with so many cute prints and sayings. I chose the cowgirl and sunflower design, which are soo me! I love the simplicity of the sunflower and the cowgirl one has my heart! Check them out here before it ends or sells out, which ever happens first!

The skirts I’m wearing are both from Amazon and very similar, just different colors. I love dot detail (any time I see this print whether it’s clothing or accessories, I try to snag it if the price is right!) A couple of years ago these ones were on major sale which allowed me to grab two easier. They’re still at an affordable price now! Last but not least, my hat is also an Amazon find – I have several of these wide brim hats from this seller specifically and they’ve all held up great over the years!

My sandals are from Forever 21 and my boots are from Target! I know it’s getting warmer and boots are slowly making their way to the back of some of our closets, however I love love love boots year round and especially pairing them with summer dresses and skirts.

Try It Tuesday: Easy Mom Style

There are a few days during M-F where I take the time to get ready and put myself together. Up until this year, I really would only make that happen if we were going somewhere, or it was a special occasion, etc. Pouring into myself and doing a few minimal effort type things to get myself ready and look a little more presentable has been huge for my self esteem. Even when I would take the time to wash my hair and ‘attempt’ to get ready, it ended up with me throwing it in a bun, throwing on the most comfortable, baggy shirt in my closet and some comfy adidas. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with this – being comfortable is key especially if you’re chasing toddler/kids daily like me. However, going a little further and stepping back from this usual routine has actually made me happier and more productive. I feel like my mood is just better overall.

Putting together this new series for the blog (which I’m lovingly calling, “Try It Tuesday”) lately has also really been motivating me throughout the week too. I really hope that sharing some easy, casual mom-looks, some mama + mini style, and maybe some other going out looks can help inspire you in the same way.

OK so now for this week’s round up! When I was pregnant with Colly I found two pairs of these really comfortable overalls and I’ve been loving them for the last 2 years. They got me thru her pregnancy too! I will say size up 1 since they’re junior sizing, but they’re comfy and I love the distressed details on the white pair.

My tank is from Target and runs true to size. Perfect for the hot months ahead!!!

My shoes are an Amazon find – I found this brand in 2021 and became instantly obsessed! They literally feel like a cloud! I will kick off my shoes throughout the day (at home of course) but when I wear these I honestly forget they’re on my feet, they’re just that comfortable!

My bag is a hybrid backpack diaper bag I’ve been using since December 2020 – it’s held up incredibly well and literally fits all the mom things! I’ve shared more about it on this post so check it out for more details!! Comes in a few different colors too! I love it, but I’m kind of looking forward to packing a little lighter these days since Colly is weaning from bottles and getting older.
