The nails totally make these look so realistic! I’ve been making these over the last decade- since Conner was a baby, but I had an idea to take it a step further this year with the fingernails! 🙂
If you choose to skip this part (and not paint the gel icing on), they still look pretty spooky with the sliced almonds!
Ingredients

1/3 c white chocolate
Green food coloring
Pretzel rods
Sliced almonds (I buy the toasted kind but it really doesn’t matter as long as they’re sliced!)
Black gel icing (optional)
Directions

If you’re going to go all of the way like I did with the ‘nails’, you’ll want to take each sliver individually and paint on the gel icing. I used a clean/brand new paint brush and it was really easy by just dipping a little of the brush into the icing from a clean bowl. Let those fully dry on parchment paper (about an hour or so). Next, melt your white chocolate and add 2-5 drops of food coloring depending on how dark you want the color to be. I like them a little lighter so I don’t do as many! Mix until the color is to your liking and dip the pretzel rod in about 1/2 way. Lay them flat on a clean piece of parchment paper and while the chocolate is still wet on the pretzel, add your nail! I took a toothpick and added 3 lines to look like real fingers to the top and bottom of the chocolate.
Enjoy!!
