Cable Knit Pumpkin DIY

Here’s a fun, easy DIY!! It’s pretty budget friendly too!

What you need:

*2-3 Pumpkins

*White acrylic paint

*Fine tip marker/or white pencil

*Hot glue gun

*Hot glue

To begin, take your pumpkin and draw different patterns (you can Google/Pinterest ideas, I did a mixture of dots, triangles, lines, etc). Once you have it how you want it, go over these doodles with your hot glue gun. Let marks dry, and once fully dry you can paint your pumpkin! Voila, you have a cable knit inspired pumpkin!!! Kiddos can get in on the fun too – my kids loved painting these! I just make sure they don’t touch the glue gun 😉 Tag me if you make these on IG! @disneysinthedesert

Favorite Kids Halloween Books

I can’t believe we’re halfway through this month! Did that sneak up or what?

There’s a variety from “baby” to toddler, to preschool, and even ones my school aged boys still enjoy (and I love that they can read them now to their little sisters!)

We’ve been collecting Halloween books since Conner was a baby almost 9 years ago, so our collection has gotten quite large over time. Books are not cheap, so I’ve tried to buy a couple every year to build it up. I’ve rounded up my favorites in this post!

I have to admit, “Creepy Underwear” and “Creepy Carrots” books we read year round. They are silly and sweet, and always provide a laugh 😉

Homemade Fall Cider

This is such a unique recipe to make during everyone’s favorite season! Guarantee your friends and family will be impressed, and you’ll be surprised how simple it is! The only “hard” part about it is grabbing some of the spices you may not have on hand (real vanilla beans, clove, whole nutmeg) but you can usually find them at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or even Amazon.

after mashing them – let simmer 1 more hour

I use a cheesecloth to strain because it really does get the tiny little bits best!

All 3 of my older kiddos love this!! BONUS: your house will smell like a delicious fall cider candle all day when you make this! Let me know if you try it!
