I call these my budget wings because they are pretty affordable – here’s how I do it and the cost breakdown!
I buy a bottle of $3 generic store brand garlic parm wing sauce, 1 bag (6 oz) of generic store brand parm (I only use a handful (I just eyeball) to sprinkle on top when they’re cooked – so you’re still left with a lot left which is $2.30, and 2 lbs of chicken wings (about $11). This recipe is under $17 and can definitely feed a family of 5!
I start by adding the chicken to the crockpot and seasoning it with salt and pepper. Add the wing sauce right over top and spread it around. Cook on high for about 2 hours. At that point, I move them to a sheet pan (I usually add a little more s + p) and cook for about 1-1.5 hrs at 400 to crisp them up. Flip them half way through. Once done, move them to a plate or bowl and sprinkle with parm (I eyeball). Kid approved, no fuss, and budget friendly!!
