I’ve seen so many dupes for the beautiful Pottery Barn jack-o-lanterns, but I wanted to try my own with something a little different. I didn’t use any acrylic paint, but spray paint instead! I also used smaller skelly heads and hands to add some creep to our floating shelves!
What You’ll Need
What You’ll Do
Spray a few coats of your chosen spray paint (I did black). Tip: make sure you shake your spray paint for at least 60 seconds for each coat you put on. When you have reached the desired amount of coats, on your last spray, shake some baking soda onto head/hands and then shake/blow it off. It helps if you use a card board box with all but the back sides taken off, so that you can use it as a collector for excess baking soda that falls off.
You want it to look aged, so make sure there’s not globs of baking soda on. Mine almost has a dusty look but it’s not perfect looking which I think makes it look more real/aged!
This was SO easy and very budget friendly too!!
