You will need a Dutch oven to make this!
Bread was one of a handful of things that were intimidating to me, so if you’re feeling like that right now you’re not alone!! This one is only 4 ingredients (including WATER! ;)) and truly so simple. I’ve tweaked it to my liking (it’s crunch on the outside and super soft and fluffy on the inside!) but remember depending on how your oven heats you may need to go up or down on the bake time (when the bread is in the Dutch oven) so keep that in mind. Let’s jump in!
Ingredients
•3 c AP flour
•1 1/2 c hot water (110-115 F)
•1 tsp salt
•1 tsp active dry yeast
Directions
Stir together all ingredients. Do not knead. Using a wooden spoon is helpful! It will be sticky. Cover with plastic wrap for 12-14 hours. Dough will rise.
Once this time has passed and you’re ready to bake your bread, preheat oven to 450. When preheating is finished, place Dutch oven into oven and bake with lid on for 30 min.
While this is taking place, remove dough from plastic wrap and move to a flat surface. Spread two layered pieces of parchment paper down (kind of crossed over each other) and add extra flour on top of paper. Form a ball, do not knead.
After 30 min, remove Dutch oven carefully from oven. Remove lid, carefully place parchment paper with dough inside Dutch oven and replace lid. Bake for 15 min. After this time, remove lid and bake for another 25 min until just golden brown.
